Soldier Palmer – classy and butt simple

2 February 2013 Michael Jensen

Tied a bunch of Soldier Palmers (sizes trout 6, 8 and 10 – and a few on a small salmon hook… 8 I think). Cool looking and super simple wet fly. Besides… this is a variant of one of the oldest flies known, the Red Palmer – and is mentioned by Izaak Walton (1653) or maybe even Dame Juliana Berners (1496).
